Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad, today was our first trip of the season and it was bad to say the least even after running around to a few different places. Working with a few other boats both recreational and commercial there were very few haddock to be found, but there were a few cod in the mix that got to swim until another day.
Fishing has been pretty good from the boats that were fishing the last couple weeks, but today the haddock were no where to be found in large numbers. I’m not going to speculate why, ask 10 fishermen the same question and you will get 10 different answers. It does not matter to me, I just know they were not there and that is a fact.
We did our best and that’s all I can say. Friday may and hopefully will be a different day.
